In my opinion the Popper op. 73 are a great source to explore the possibilities of cello playing without losing a charming way to expose all major technical skills. The visionary way the last virtuoso to play without endpin arrived to our generation is through Mr. Janos Starker. At the Budapest Academy he was the pupil of A. Schiffer who had been the successor and pupil of D. Popper.
